First off, "Hello" and thank you for your interest in Reviction!! Here are some general qualities that we look for in all potential recruits and we ask that you look this over before applying just to make sure you are on track with what Reviction is looking for in its members.
1.) Casual vs. Raiding – We offer two types of membership into Reviction. If you’re looking to join as a casual place to hang out that fits your play time/schedule, chat with people, or do casual 5 and 10 man then we have that available. If you are looking for a serious day-time raiding atmosphere focused on progression then we have that too.
Casuals in the guild do run plenty of 5 man content and 10/25 man raids etc. On the weekends we typically do older content for achievements and for fun. We also have members who form up and run Rated BG and Arena teams. The 5, 10 man raids and BG/Arena teams are driven by members in the guild and are not a guild sponsored event, what this means is we do have teams that run 5 and 10 man content/raids outside of the 25 man raid, to find out and get involved with them requires you to visit the forums or pay attention to guild chat and to speak up and let others know you are interested.
Currently the guild sponsors 25 man raiding and as a raider all current raid content is to be saved for the 25 man team, this includes Tol Barad. If at the end of the week there are encounters left open then feel free to finish off those raids. New raiders are brought in under an Evaluation period so that we can asses your capabilities and make sure you fit in with our core players. This also provides you with the opportunity to asses for yourself that we as a guild are a good fit for your play style and that you are able to commit to the rest of the raiding core in Reviction. If all goes well then you will be promoted to Raider which provides you as a raider with certain perks, such as guild repairs and access to raider resource tab in the guild bank.
For guild sponsored events the guild will provide feasts and flasks. Potions, special food buffs/flasks etc. need to be provided by you. As a progression based guild we expect our raiders to want to maximize their contribution, using potions on progression fights can either make or break the encounter so we expect our raiders to come prepared.
2.) Content Focused Guild vs. Gear Focused Players - obviously these two entities are on polar opposite of another and we want players in Reviction to realize that our raids are not built around loot tables and drop rates but instead are built to constructively challenge each player to be their very best when we are up against content. Loot is and always will be the byproduct of progression. However, we'd rather not have to gear people up to get to the same level that we are progressing on. The onus is on you if want to raid to be appropriately geared for the level of content we are currently working on, for more information or to answer any questions you have around this feel free to contact an officer in game.
3.) Time Zone - Currently Reviction is made up of both stateside, Ocean Pacific and European time zoned players. We are interested in growing our members but want you to be aware that Reviction members are spread throughout those time zones and that we are most active as a guild during the US daytime.
4.) Loot System - Reviction utilizes the EPGP loot reward system. EPGP is a relational reward system. It is an alternative DKP system in which your loot buying power is defined by the ratio of your effort and rewards points instead of their difference. In plain English, in a traditional DKP system you receive effort points that increase your DKP pool and spend them to receive loot which decreases your DKP pool. The person with the largest DKP pool has the most buying power. In EPGP, you receive effort points but you also receive loot points. These are separate from each other and your buying power is defined by your effort points divided by your loot/gear points. This system is more fair to new comers while still providing a way to reward our veteran raiders. For a more detailed explanation of EPGP please check out the Wiki.
